In this mode, players are able to start a new game of Fantasian while keeping their characters' progress and weapons. The dungeon features 3 different floors, with recommended levels of 65, 80 and 99, respectively, and accompanies the "New Game+" mode, where players can upgrade their weapons even further and unlock more powerful gems. Upon defeating the Guardian of Shangri-La and obtaining a certain key item, players will be able to warp to the Void Realm. This end-game dungeon is for players who have reached the level with which they could complete the last boss. The kid that takes ipad's parents to play.Īll in All 8/10, I do recommend specially for a Sakaguchi/Uematsu fan.Įnd-game content "Void Realm" and "New Game+" added to the game. I guess the story is probably apple arcade user friendly. Cheryl is interesting but her "love story" just goes out to nowhere, it's like how that helps character arc/development? The concept of emotions in the game was promising and I was waiting how the writers could work out with them but nothing really remarkable and interesting of mention came from it. I'm shocked how I found out the first duo Leo and Kina tasteless and unispiring. While some backstories did stand out and are very likeable of their own, and I could mention over Tan's with Carmina, Zinikr's and Nobuo's Blik-0, most of them really did not help that much making me empathize with the characters. World exploration with the sidequest/chest search pretty good. But still there are gorgeous soundtracks like "kina". Nobuo's Music continues to be pretty great, it maybe not his strongest work, I can even say one or two musics over there annoyed me a litte, like the battle one that even my wife requested to put the sound down lol. If you beat Fantasian without bosses guides you are pretty much set to beat any other JRPG. Defeating the bosses requires lot of strategizing and I was not raged at getting my ass kicked a lot of times, that actually made defeating them much more rewarding. Battle mechanics are probably one of the most interesting from a JRPG I've seen in a while, loved how they forced us to use each of the characters so no one gets neglected. I beat the game yesterday, and had lots of fun overall with the game, although not everything was perfect. On a positive note though, I liked Tan's and Carmina's story. Would have liked more specialisations for characters. Most characters have similar abilities and ability trees like Taunt, Heal, Barrier, Counter, and special, and this makes them less unique. Could use less of this.Īpart from that, the growth maps aren't that varied and pretty mediocre. ![]() Another example is getting a key from an enemy which you first go through the whole map to reach, and then once you reach it, the enemy just keeps running back to the start of the map, essentially just filling up your dimengion. On returning, you have to redo the water gates. ![]() Then after meeting her, you have to go do something else and return. For example, you have to go see the fortune teller in Vence which requires changing the water gates. And while the fights are nice, it would have been cool to mix it up a little.įinding stuff and some aspects have been tedious. Slowly working through the quests, which are basically just boss fights. A lot of the strategies I've come up with for bosses in the 2nd part boil down to careful use of tension skills. I don't completely remember if that boss has fire resistance or anything, but if it doesn't, I'd also recommend saving your tension skill for when it opens its jaws, that way you can give both arms a nice whack and hopefully reduce the damage from the scissor skill. It took me way too long to realize I could do that. ![]() ![]() This was after I got Kina and Cheryl back, but it applies.Īlso don't forget you can unlearn stuff in the growth map by setting it to release mode, if you ever end up seeing a skill you really need right away but down have the skill points for it, you can unseal some other stuff and learn it. I was stuck a few days ago on like 6 different bosses that I couldn't beat, then spent a bit of time to get the whole party up to 50 and I've cleared 4 of them since. One of them will lead you do the thaumatech fsctory depths dungeon, and you can level pretty comfortably up to 50 there. I'd recommend finding as many of the robots as you can, you can get all but one without having to clear any bosses I think, keep doing them even after the one that leads you to Cheryl and Kina.
